We are building a communiversity and we need your help. THE LEADERSHIP UNDERCOMMONS is a Black-led communiversity, offering educational opportunities for individuals committed to dismantling systemic oppression and nurturing collective liberation from the intersections of anti-Blackness and other forms of oppression. Through education, advocacy, and community building, we endeavor to foster a world where every individual, with a special focus on Black communities, is honored, valued, and empowered to lead their lives to the fullest extent, devoid of discrimination and harm.
UBUNTU Research and Evaluation launched The Leadership Undercommons because people weren’t just interested in our work—they wanted to be in it. They wanted access to the ideas, study, community, and radical care that shape our practice, even if they weren’t coming to us through an institution.
We created The Leadership Undercommons as a nonprofit space where individuals—not just organizations—can experience what makes UBUNTU powerful: co-learning, reading and reflection, Black community building, and a deep commitment to dignity and liberation. This is where Black thought, study, and leadership are nurtured outside the limits of organizational contracts. It’s a place for anyone who wants to build a freer future, starting with themselves.
